Out Now: Open Your Eyes by Thomas And The Angry Hearts, Eight Months Before Their Toronto Showcase
The Norwegian Folk-Rock Five-Piece Follows Its 2025 Debut Album with a Sixth Single
Thomas And The Angry Hearts released Open Your Eyes on 16 October 2026. It is their sixth single on Southbound Records and the second since their self-titled debut album. The Norwegian folk-rock five-piece has a date in North America next: a showcase at El Mocambo in Toronto in June 2027.
Thomas And The Angry Hearts have Open Your Eyes in the playlist below, and the band’s coverage is collected on the Thomas And The Angry Hearts profile. The single came to MusicDrops.News through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news titles. Press play, then read on for where the band goes next.

Thomas And The Angry Hearts Released Four Singles and a Debut Album Within Four Months of 2024 and 2025
The run started on 11 October 2024 with We Are All Here Now. I Will Carry You followed in November and Until the End in December. Perfect Rules came in January 2025, so the singles arrived roughly a month apart.
Two weeks after Perfect Rules, on 31 January 2025, the band released a self-titled ten-song album on Southbound Records. Ronni Le Tekrø produced it.
That first single is still the most-played song in the catalogue. On 30 October 2026, We Are All Here Now sat at 81,691 plays on Spotify. What Went Wrong followed at 40,811 and Perfect Rules at 27,386, on a page with 7,125 monthly listeners.
After a gap of almost 17 months, the single What Went Wrong arrived on 19 June 2026. It was the first new song since the album, and it set up the release that followed four months later.

Two Lead Voices Shape the Sound of Thomas And The Angry Hearts
The band is led by singer and songwriter Thomas Warhuus Ådland, who also plays guitar. Thomas shares the lead vocals with Hilde Bergersen Ådland, and the five-piece is based just outside Oslo.
The sound carries Irish folk-rock into modern Americana. Full vocal harmonies run through songs about love, regret and the moments that shape a life. That pairing of two singers is the thread running through the catalogue so far.

Open Your Eyes Pairs Two Lead Voices Before Thomas And The Angry Hearts Head to Toronto in 2027
Open Your Eyes runs to 3:22. Thomas Warhuus Ådland wrote it with Truls Fjeldvang, and Ronni Le Tekrø and Kjartan Hesthagen produced it.
The song is set in the quiet hours after midnight, when everything feels right for a while. Then the sun comes up, and the day before is waiting again.
It is a slow, melancholy song built on the contrast between the two lead voices. They sit apart in style and still lock together, with harmonies gathered around an Irish turn in the melody. The London Celtic Punks web-zine heard the same thing in its review on 20 October.
From the MusicDrops.News curator team: “Open Your Eyes sits fifth in our Rock, Alternative Rock, Indie Rock playlist, straight after Yard Act’s 100% Endurance and a few places below Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s Rein Me In. It brings a folk-rock duet into a run of guitar bands. We would play it to anyone who wants two singers carrying one song.”
El Mocambo in Toronto Is the Next Stage After Open Your Eyes for Thomas And The Angry Hearts
The next step crosses the Atlantic. The band is confirmed for the NFTC Folk/Rock Showcase at El Mocambo in Toronto on Friday 25 June 2027. The organisers’ announcement introduces them as a five-piece from just outside Oslo. UK dates are also in the plan.
Two famous bands show how far that road can run. The Pogues formed in King’s Cross, London, in 1982 and fused Irish traditional music with punk. Irish folk-rock has never needed an Irish postcode. Their best-known song, Fairytale of New York, is a duet between Shane MacGowan and Kirsty MacColl. It reached number two in the UK at Christmas 1987.
Mumford & Sons played small and mid-sized rooms in the UK and the United States through 2008 and 2009. Then their debut, Sigh No More, took off. Their performance with Bob Dylan and The Avett Brothers at the 2011 Grammy Awards then brought a surge of American listeners.
For Thomas And The Angry Hearts, Toronto is the first North American stage on the map. Start with Open Your Eyes, then go back to We Are All Here Now to hear where the run began.
