The American Singer Puts Dominican Spanglish and Late-Night R&B on a Ten-Song Album

Jason Vaughan released Acts Of Desire on 13 June 2026, ten songs of late-night R&B in English and Dominican Spanglish. It runs to 37 minutes and arrived after 27 singles in under four months. The independent American singer picks the fourth track, Háblame Así / Talk to me like that, as the best way in.

Jason Vaughan’s Say It With Your Eyes, the opener of Acts Of Desire, is in our R&B playlist below, and the run of coverage is collected on Jason Vaughan’s artist profile. The album came to this desk through PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news titles. Listen to the album first, then read on for the singles that led to it.

Before Acts Of Desire, Jason Vaughan Released 27 Singles in Under Four Months

That album closed a busy first half of the year. Vaughan grew up in Queens, New York, in a family with Bermudian and Dominican roots, and he now works out of Orlando, United States. He sings in English and Spanish, and he also hosts a podcast, Unfiltered & Off Script, about relationships and culture.

His phrasing has an influence he names himself. His website carries his full cover of Craig David‘s Fill Me In. That was Craig David’s debut solo single, and it went straight in at number one in the UK in April 2000. By his own account, the song shaped his conversational phrasing and the smooth way he tells a story. Both run through Acts Of Desire.

The year began at speed. On 9 January 2026 he released Cutting Ties, and 20 more singles followed by 9 February, a new song every day or two. Among them were Moving on, Trusting A Broken Heart, Dating me is like and Corner Store Ghost. One of them, GIVE IT TO GOD on 17 January, was a Christian song among R&B and hip-hop singles.

Then the pace dropped. Six singles came between 21 March and 1 May, from Slide For You to Darte la Vuelta. Two days after the first came Sexo En La Yipeta, named with the Dominican word for an SUV. A week later he released Sex In The Jeep, the same title in English. Both Slide For You and Sex In The Jeep made the album. Chunedesk reviewed the first of them on 4 June, nine days before the release.

On Acts Of Desire, Jason Vaughan Points Listeners to Háblame Así, the Fourth of Ten Songs

Six weeks after Darte la Vuelta, the album arrived. Acts Of Desire opens with Say It With Your Eyes and closes on Feelings On Safety. In between, the titles follow a night from a first look to Roll With You and Bed to Floor.

The voice is warm, with a slight rasp, and the delivery stays conversational. On the opener he also sings his own backing vocals. The grooves carry a hip-hop bounce and the harmonies look back to 1990s R&B, while the Afro-Caribbean flavour comes from his family’s Bermudian and Dominican roots. The songs stay on attraction, and on what gets complicated once it turns into a relationship.

Háblame Así / Talk to me like that is the song he picks to show his Dominican Spanglish. It is a bilingual slow-burn, with English R&B vocals over a melodic Spanish flow and production that stays light so the voice leads. Its subject is language itself. One line runs “your accent got me losing my mind”, and the song keeps returning to the moment someone switches tone.

Rock & Wrestling picked the song up in July. The site called it trapsoul with a Dominican twist, made for the club or a drive at night. Late Night Pressure, track seven, rests on a bassline and trap-style drums, with layers of synth above them.

Bilingual romance also has a famous precedent. Romeo Santos fronted Aventura, a bachata group formed in the Bronx by four members of Dominican descent. They were among the first bachata acts to sing in Spanglish, and they borrowed from R&B and hip-hop along the way. Acts Of Desire comes at the same meeting point from the other side: R&B first, with the Spanish folded inside it.

After Acts Of Desire, Jason Vaughan Turned to Spanish, Faith and His Own Website

The next record came 25 days later. Sin Filtro, his five-song EP in Spanish, arrived on 8 July 2026. Its title translates as unfiltered, the word that also names his podcast.

Then the singles returned at a monthly pace. God is Good, a Christian song, followed on 13 September, eight months after GIVE IT TO GOD. Damn came out on 13 October, and Korynne Costas interviewed him about it on Unapologetically KC.

His website has also become a release channel of its own. It streams Late Night Pressure and Pride Don’t Keep You Warm in full for free. It also sells newer songs, among them Spin the Block and Kiss Me Like a Crime Scene, as direct downloads.

So this album is for listeners who keep their R&B for after midnight. It also suits Latin R&B fans who want to hear the style from its English side.

MusicDrops.News’s curator team: “Start with Háblame Así. At three minutes and 15 seconds it is one of the shortest songs on the album, and its title carries the whole idea: the Spanish line first, then the English one.”

Twenty-seven singles showed how fast he works. Acts Of Desire shows what he does with ten songs and a running order. The Spanish EP that came next shows where the following ones may go.
