Honoré Vraiment Is the Ninth Elik Tara Group Record in Eleven Months, After Years of Songs on YouTube
A Canadian Afro-Caribbean Project Turns Five Years of Family Songs Into a Steady Release Schedule
Honoré Vraiment came out on 1 June 2026. It is the title track of a 14-song album from Elik Tara Group, the Canadian Afro-Caribbean project led by singer, songwriter and producer Elik Tara. It was also the ninth record the label had put out in eleven months, and that pace is the story here.
Elik Tara Group’s Honoré Vraiment is in our playlist below, and the group’s earlier coverage is gathered on the group’s artist profile. PopHits.Co Music Charts, which verifies independent artists and places their releases across its network of music news desks, brought Honoré Vraiment to MusicDrops.News. Press play, then keep reading for the five years of songs that led to it.

Before Honoré Vraiment, Elik Tara Group Wrote Songs for Family Occasions and Posted Them on YouTube
The story starts on YouTube, about five years ago. The early uploads were personal. Lettre à ma femme d’amour, a letter in song to the writer’s wife, has drawn around 44,000 views. Petite balade pour toi followed, along with greetings for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
One song from that period carries more weight than the rest. C’est juste que… mon père repose en paix means “it’s just that… my father rests in peace”. It became one of the group’s first releases on streaming services, in January 2023. À croire que…. Je savais had arrived a couple of months earlier, in November 2022.
Then, from July 2025, the run itself began. Je cherche encore mes mots, an EP, opened it on 2 July. Iya Ife Nla followed in August and La dame et sa moto in September, both as EPs. In November came En français s’il vous plaît, a 16-song album, and in December the Hors série EP.
The sound settled along the way. Elik Tara Group describes it as Afro-jazz where Afrobeat, Zouk, Kompa, Rumba and Smooth Jazz meet, bright, danceable and refined. The words move between six languages: Ewondo, French, Lingala, Yoruba, English and Wolof.

Honoré Vraiment Heads a Fourteen-Song Elik Tara Group Album With Titles in French, English and Wolof
So by the time Honoré Vraiment arrived, the group had a method. The album runs to 14 songs, and the song that names it sits second in the running order. At four minutes and five seconds, it is a mid-length song on a record built for a long listen.
Claude Noah, credited as Aloys Claude Noah Ayi, wrote and produced Honoré Vraiment and plays guitar on it. Five singers share the lead: Amadou Sidibé, Melerine Noubia, Carlos Miguel Esposito, Sow Ousmane Diallo and Mylène Osila. That many voices on one song fits a project that calls itself a group, even with one writer steering it.
The titles across the album show how wide it reaches. Some are French, such as Courage et espoir and N’y songe même pas. Others are English, such as Defend innocence, Chains of freedom and Choose yourself. Lu xew ? is Wolof, and one song is simply called Senegal. Read in order, those titles sketch the album’s concerns: resilience, freedom, love and self-respect.

What Comes After Honoré Vraiment for Elik Tara Group, Five Months Into Its Longest Pause
Then the run stopped, at least for now. Honoré Vraiment is still the group’s latest record, five months later. That is the longest pause since the monthly releases began in July 2025. The catalogue now counts twelve LPs and EPs.
Tabou Combo and Angélique Kidjo Show How Far a Multilingual Afro-Caribbean Sound Can Travel
Two artists show how far a multilingual Afro-Caribbean project can travel. Tabou Combo, the Haitian compas band founded in 1968 in Pétion-Ville, called themselves the ambassadors of konpa. They sang in English, French, Spanish and Haitian Creole, and they played in places such as Japan, Ivory Coast and Senegal. They also became the first Caribbean band to reach number one on the French Hit Parade. Kompa is one of the styles in Elik Tara Group’s mix, and the new album includes a song called Senegal.
Angélique Kidjo shows the same reach from the African side. She is fluent in five languages, Fon, French, Yorùbá, Gen and English, and sings in all of them. She has also won five Grammy Awards. For a group that sings in six languages, her career shows that singing in many languages need not shrink an audience.
Elik Tara Group is a long way from either of those careers. Still, Honoré Vraiment closes the busiest year the project has had. After nine records in eleven months, the next one will show where the group takes that reach.
From the MusicDrops.News curator team: “We placed Honoré Vraiment fifth in our Afrobeats, Amapiano, Caribbean playlist, straight after BNXN and Sarz’s Back Outside. Its Afro-Caribbean warmth gives that run of Afrobeats a softer turn.”
